Playing - The Literacy Link

3 hours of Curriculum
Training Description:

Like links in a chain, during play children actively connect language to the concepts they are beginning to understand.  Coupling language and play, we can empower children to reach the next link of literacy skill!

  1. Identify the characteristics of pure play, necessary supports and its importance in the process of learning.

  2. Name the first three phases of play and their characteristic observable play behavior.

  3. Catalog and explore the five logic foundations upon which language and literacy skills are scaffolded.

  4. Plan play activities that inspire literacy exploration and learning.

Some of these workshops may be available in shorter formats.
